Tuesday, January 06, 2009 THIS IS MADNESS!! Whee.... I went crazy in yesterday's training... I guess its all due to Cell Cycle & Oncology's UT4... Stupid cancerous UT with all 13 lessons =,=" (Lets not forget that files for 10/13 were lost due to hard disk failure) But I digress =D Yesterday's Aikido lesson was on Sankyo & Yonkyo (3rd & 4th lock) Only problem I had was the pain... I've completely lost my resistance to Sankyo. However, in all honesty, I've yet to receive a bruise due to Yonkyo despite having 0 resistance to that technique all along... Pretty strange... Perhaps my hands have ultra high muscle tissue recovery rate =X Lets' move onto the sadistic part... Sankyo Omote: (3rd lock, positive movement) Partnered with Ayie for this technique. This crazy bugger annoyed me alittle so I gave him 2-3 quick sankyo with minimal movements but maximum pain... Muahahahaha... But lets not forget, "No Pain, No Gain." I did teach him how to perform the technique properly & how to pass his next grading.. On the other hand, I ought to apologise... I performed the lock too quickly & almost dislocated his fingers =S Sankyo Ura: (3rd lock, negative movement) Partnered with Liling/dodo for this technique This was alittle tough... lol, her hakama gets in the way... I almost made her trip coz I stepped on her hakama several times Also gave her some pointers for Sankyo... AND 1 ultra fast, sankyo.. (similar to ayie) That was punishment for laughing at me =p Yonkyo Omote: (4rd lock, positive movement) Cant remember the name of the fellow I partnered with... Initially, I was unable to identify the pressure point... Fortunately, I recalled Kelly sensei's advice for this technique & managed to pull through... This however, was very unfortunate for him as it took me a while to adjust and minimise the pressure channelled onto the pressure point. I'm really rusty... Yonkyo Ura: (4rd lock, negative movement) Liling/Dodo again XD Sadly for her, her arms are very thin, making it very easy to locate the pressure point This also decreases her resistance to the techniques. To make things worse, my knuckles are quite big which increases the pain... However, I wasn't that rough this round... Teaching her the lock was little difficult. She couldnt see how the lock was performed =S I guess the only way is to guide her as she performs it on someone else... No matter, she still has 2.5 months before the next grading =p Let time take its course... 2v1 Randori/Multiple Attackers: Urgh... My randori still sux... I'm still relying on my karate more than my aikido. I found myself striking rather than blending with the incoming attacks x.X Thank goodness, I held back the urge to KICK! If I did kick, it probably would be the end of Ben & Ali =p 31 Jo Kata: ARRRGH!!! My foot work is still screwed up!!! *dies* --- Note to self: Ultra fast sankyo is dangerous... I think I'll limit it to 2 per person in future =p |
