Alright, a couple of stuff to blog about...
So here's a mega jumbo post...
RP Open House (Sat, 10th Jan)
Arrived in RP at 8.30 only to find that Aikido Ig is not participating in the brisk walk.
With nothing to do, I headed down to my FYP booth n helped out until 12pm b4 returning to Aikido IG only to find once more that there was nothing to do until the workshops start
However, I remembered the wrong timing n went over with Chibi & Eisha WHEN THE WORKSHOP ENDED! Forgetful me, I must be getting old... Anyway, I taught them some basic rolling movements. Apparently, Chibi is epic fail at rolling. Eisha wasn't too shabby.
We then moved onto ikkyo, 1st lock. However, chibi couldnt take the lock and we stopped coz she started suggesting that Judo & Aikido have a match. Honestly retarded and gave a Judo member a simple nikyo (2nd lock).
This was later followed by a random demo by two taekwondo primary school kids...
Cheen Cheen then gave the kids & Judo IG a demo. After the demo, I went back to FYP booth n helped to clean up.
IDP (Sun, 11th Jan)
Met up with Kerus & Kenneth...
Initially, I didn't know which university's booth to visit.
Those of interest to be had ques a mile wide. University of New South Wales for example was occupied from start to end.
I ended up questioning Curtin, James Cook and Queensland University of Technology.
QUT has some nice courses while James Cook has some double degrees... Both are equally tempting...
QUT:
Bachelors with major in Biotechnology (3 years with no FYP, +co-major in any course)
Bachelors of Biotechnology Innovation (4 years with FYP, covers biotech + business)
James Cook, SG campus:
International Business
Business & Entrepreneurship
Marketing
Curtin:
Agriculture
Aquaculture (no, they dont culure Ah quahs)
Molecular Biotechnology
Random note:
Kerus fails at directions!!
He drove all the way to woodlands from orchard hotel just to bring us to Bukit Timah XD
Aikido Training (Mon, 12th Jan)
I decided to use a new technique today...
Yet another combination between Aikido & Karate.
I'm using a karate stance to generate concentration, Aikido techniques for energy efficiency.
Sadly, its not as effective as I thought it to be as I only am allowed to use my hands.
Furthermore, I occasionally focus too much on a single opponent.
Pros:
High Speed (movement + atk speed)
Decisive/Confident
Better reflex
Cons:
Slightly weaker footing (harder to throw ppl)
Occasionally focused on a single target.
Tested it on jiyu waza (Free-throws) & randori (3 multiple attackers).
I guess I need to refine it further...
I wonder if anyone will let me try it with kicks =X
In any case, I forgot 1 thing... Tomorrow I have NAPFA!!
I used up alot of stamina for this technique. I'm dead...
Worse still, I used it not once but TWICE!
