Assets: These are broken down into Fixed Assets & Current Assets. Fixed assets are stuff that are permanent fixtures such as renovations, cars, etc. These things dont change in value unless depreciation sets in. But lets not worry abt depreciation. Its not needed at this level and I wont touch on it. Current assets are non-permanent such as stationary, cash, good will, stock, etc. The value of these assets can fluctuate. Eg: I purchased a weapon set with the Aikdo IG funds today. 3 days later, I make another purchase with the funds. Therefore, the IG funds can be seen as a current asset. On the 4th day, a kind soul donates $1000 to the Aikido IG funds. What is Capital? Capital is money put into a bussiness by the owner. The owner can decide to draw from it at any time. What are Liabilities? Basically, this is where all your CREDITORS go. CREDITORS are people YOU owe money to. (Eg: bank loans) Split into two parts: Short Term Liabilities: Short Term Liabs are creditors which are settled over a short period of time. Varies from a few days to a couple of months, etc. Long Term Liabilities: Long Term Liabs are creditors which are settled over a long period of time. Bank loans are good examples of these. For example, if I were to buy a house worth $100,000 and take a bank loan of $90,000 to settle over a period of 5 years, it would be considered as a long term liab. |
